Christmas: Season of Joy, Peace, Great Tidings

December has come and we are in the special season once again. A season where we can see putting gifts under the tree, lights in the windows, cards in the mail, preparing for turkey dinner with family and friends, show in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass in the streets. In short, Christmas is a season of joy, of peace and great tidings. A season when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
"Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making. It is more than that. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving and forgiving." according to J.C. Penny. That means that we should not focus in preparing turkey dinners or expensive gifts but we should also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period which is the love of God for humanity. It is easy to lose sight of true meaning of Christmas. Amidst the delicious meals, sweet drinks, lovely songs and dances, beautiful friends and family members we would come across this season, let's try not to forget about the birth of Jesus Christ who taught us all what real, genuine and unconditional love.
As we celebrate the birth of our savior, let's be human and kind enough to remember and show some love to those who are not fortunate enough to be actively involved in the celebration of our savior Jesus Christ because the spirit behind Christmas is that of giving and sharing.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

We often said that we learn from our past but is that true? Inequalities have existed in our society for a thousand of years; from the treatment of slaves to the inequalities of women. Today, we still have people who face inequality everyday. If we learn from our past, why does inequality still exist?
Our society was formed by human beings based on certain rules that govern our actions and behaviors. We share mutual resources and white building up our lives. We commit innumerate amount of decisions everyday that leads us to different paths. Some of us are more successful that others due to various reasons.

Hope of the Future

We all know that being an engineer, architect, doctor,  teacher or nurse is hard. Indeed, there is no easy profession but is there harder profession that being a parent? For me, this is the hardest career in this world. Some plans in facing this kind of challenge but some also are already a parent not in their right age.
Related image        Responsibility of the father and mother to take care of their child in good or bad times. This will test the length of your patience as a parent. Taking good care starts in regular feeding of your child.  The most effective way to improve the health condition of a child is through breast feeding.  It needs also the full force of the parents in order the child to grow good and healthy. This means that the parents should give or provide enough time for their child. Education, Good manners and Discipline  should be first learned at home. In order the child to grow good and be a useful citizen someday.
If a child will grow with discipline, he or she will be an inspiration and a good example to others. It is based on how you care and how you discipline your child.

Filipino Values Month Celebration

Children nowadays are already different. Gadgets have consumed them already. Most of their time is consumed in playing games and surfing the net. They are not using their time correctly.
Image result for effects of gadgets on children          In this generation, children choose to join with their gadgets instead of communicating with their family and friends. In this situation, communication or the relation between a parent and a child is affected. And also their attention is focused on social medias like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and games. So, we must use our gadgets, we have tendency to disregard our surroundings and focused on our games and social media accounts. If we became more conscious in using our gadgets, we can reconnect physically and emotionally to our surroundings and the people around us. Cellphones are not prohibited as long as we know our limitations.
To sum up, we must realize that we have to give more value to relations than material things.

Reading = Success

If someone asked you to name one trait that truly sets successful people apart, what would pop into your head? Talents? Resources? Innovative ideas? All those things make a difference but one thing that remain constant is reading a lot.
Image result for reading success          Why is reading important? Is it because the better a reader a student is, the easier of a time that student has understanding directions for assignment, easier for the student to complete the assigned work, easier for the student to complete an essay? Those are only parts of why students success depends so hugely in reading. Reading books is important. You can acquire knowledge, increase memory and imagination, able to do more and better critical thinking and it improves language and communication skills. Especially for children and young adults, because it makes them stronger to face the challenges of the future.
Educators have said for years how important reading is for student. Reading is important for life success. The more  you know, the smarter you grow- so pick something and read.

Today’s Seed, Tommorow’s Fruit

The days intended for the 2nd quarter has come into an end.          This grading period became very challenging and difficult for me.I encountered difficulty in managing my time with my family and school.
‎In the middle of this quarter we experience heavy rains which cause the government to suspend classes in all levels for safety. The days that were wasted because of the typhoon causes us struggle in catching up  all the lessons and activities intended for the second quarter.
‎It was very exhausting because of the unending requirements and quizzes but I realized that instead of complaining , it is better to do your work because complaining will not help you succeed in life.
‎We are still students and we are still on the process of gaining and discovering new things. All we need is to be patient and work hard on every task that is given to us. We may experience difficultly now but tomorrow you will harvest the fruit of success.
    ‎

"Coming together with furthest beyond to build an inclusive world of universal respect for human rights and dignity"

"Together let's build a world of respect for everyone's human rights and dignity! "
Almost 1.3 billion people still live in multidimensional poverty,  they are not just poor in terms of income,  thay are also lacking in health,  education and living standards. And they risk falling behind further when faced with conflict, sickness, unemployment or natural disaster. As this year's theme reminds us,  ensuring access to basic needs like water,  food,  shelter or safety will also give back some basic human rights and dignith to millions of people
Government policies alone cannot create the social inclusion that is fundamental to reaching those left furthest behind and overcoming poverty.  When people living in poverty take the floor and share their experiences, demonstrates how we can achieve greater social inclusion by enabling people from all walks of life to come together to respect the human rights and dignity of people living in poverty.
So lets help those people by respecting them and lets put each other up to build a world of respect and dignity.

Guro Filipino: Turo mo Kinabukasan Ko

The difference between a really great teacher and one who does not teach well can have a lasting effects on students. Teachers trully care about their students and want to make sure they are learning.  Teachers work diligently to make sure students understand the materials at a deep level and become more interested in the subject matter. Teachers are probably the most underrated yet the most powerful professionals in the whole world.  Their works has a long term impact on not just lives of the students they teach but on society as a whole.  They have the power to shape generetion,  impact minds and make the world a better place.  Teachers should be called fillers because they fill the gaps and crevices in a childs life.  A good teacher is someone who can think a student,  look like a parent and behave like a boss.  Every word they say, every class they take, every papers they grade goes on the change of lives.
It might not be paid to teach your students the value of life but your salaries are far to miniscule considering that your word will reasonable inside the stufents mind for the rest of their lives. Your words are the sparks that light up students future. Students eventually forget what they read in books but they will always remember how awesome a teacher was.  Students have become a better person because of a wonderful person like you. Students school years will be priceless memory because teachers who always make sure they were happy. Students are safeguarded from all of lives negative influences because teachers shower their love in tan and not just ounces. No matter how hard parents try to give their children to be best of values, they will ultimately grow up to be young,  adults, whose personalities are shaped by teachers.
As the years fly by,  technology will change,  society will change and education will change but one thing that will remain constant is the value of good teacher. It is impossible to put a price tag on the kind of education students receive because as a teacher your guidance is truly priceless.
Great inventors and leaders are not born. They are motivated and inspired to do great things by great teachers.

Wavefront: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancement

Wavefront is a surface composed at any instant of all the points just reached by a vibrational disturbance in its propagation through a medium.  Nowadays, we can observe that technology is improving and improving because of the new discoveries.  Gadgets,  machines and even transportation. Why?  Because of the so called wavefront.  Wavefront has a big contribution of the technology today because its the main source of electricity and magnetism that helps the machine works.
In my own opinion,  the theme means we must discover our own inner potential or even outer potential so that we can contribute to technology advancements. Contributing to technology helps us make our life easier.  If we discover our potentials now,  then we will know what is our strength and weaknesses so that we can capitalize it and to contribute it to our society.  The theme also aims to boost scientific consciousness among the youth,  and encourage them to participate actively in the science clubbing movement.
To sum up,  if we accentuate and capitalize on our inner and outer potentials, we can surely make the world a better place and we will surely live easier.

Filipinos: Joyous even after calamities

Hurricanes, Floods, Earthquake, Volcanic Eruption, Thunderstorms, Typhoons, Monsoon rains. Philippines, one of the countries in the world that is afflicted with almost all kinds of natural calamities all year around.
Philippines is situated above the equator and has the warmest ocean temperatures. Another is the location of Philippines. It is within the Pacific Ring of Fire . That is some of the reasons why Philippines is a disaster prone country Another is the Filipinos, themselves. Only few towns are implementing proper waste disposal. Others don't mind when it comes to proper segregation, disposal, and management of garbage. Garbage is thrown everywhere that causes clogging of drainage wherein the rain flows. Another is the deforestation, the forest are cleared or bald. Kaingin, mining and illegal logging are some of the human bad activities or habits that causes soil erosion and landslides that may kill many people.
Despite the negative outcomes of the calamities, Filipinos remain resilient and strong. They still see something good and funny in every bad situation. Like for instances, students are happy when classes are suspended . But other students, attend schools even during disaster. And citizens who are working forced themselves to do their job no matter how hard it is. But some people prefer to stay at home when they feel it isn't safe to go out. Resilience is a character that Filipinos are very proud of, being hopeful while experiencing hard situations like calamities.

A Great Start

ICT is one of the most interesting subjects. Because you are dealing with computers. Because of this many inventions, children nowadays love surfing in the internet.  They don't know its benefits.  In ict 10, I learned about internet, search engines.
In the first quarter, we can't avoid encountering challenges.  I have encountered problems like managing my time. There are lots of projects and outputs and I can't focus on it because of the lack of time. There is an instances that I didn't ass my requirements on time.  Another is the self-doubt and confidence. Because of the lack of confidence, I doubted myself. In every article that I made, I felt like the piece I made was wrong. In every discussion, I wanted to recite but the negative thinking covers me.
I solved my problem by focusing on my lectures and time management. For me, to over come that, I learned to divide my time in every task that I am going to do. Another is boosting my self confidence. It is one of the ways to be comfortable in every actions and decision you will make.
Moving on, I will use this as my motivation fot the upcoming quarters. My leraning this time will surely guide me in the future. I am excited for more classes to come!
This has been a great start!

State of the Nation Address 2018

SONA or State of the Nation Address, how important it is? For those who are not interested they take it for granted but for us students, it’s important to know what our president want to in our country because this is one of the key to our future.
Third State of the Nation Address of President Duterte. He tackled first the war against drugs. He said that he cares for his country and future of the generation. Yes, many people are against but can we not remember that he is the only president who has the guts to fight against drugs. The past president promised to face out drugs but what had happened to their administration. Drug lords had multiplied and addicts are all around but can we observe today in his administration. The fight against drugs has lessen. Addicts are voluntarily surrender because of his advocacy against drugs. It is for our future not him. He also said that human right means giving a decent and dignified future. He ends his statement,” You worry about the present, I worry about the future.” He means about the drugs.
Another is about corruption. Corruption must stop he said. We must start for the LGU or the Local Government Unit because it begins corruption in the small government. He also said that love of money is corrosive. Yes, in my own opinion and observation, corruption is everywhere. How can we make our country grow if ion a small community has this corruption? What is our future then? President Duterte is not just a president but a good leader. Why? Because he cares about his people. In Marawi he tackled also the legality of Bangsamoro. The care about the Muslim even though the Marawi war had come. He cares for the children. Why? It’s simply for the improvement of rural health unit. The health of the children. Why we cannot give a decent rural health unit of every municipality. Give them because children are our future.
So we Filipino people must hold on to the promise of our president because he is our leader but take note that he cannot do by his own without our cooperation and love to our country. His promise is a promise to hold on for our future. We must fight and help him to achieve all this for better country.

Healthy Life is in our Hands

“Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrition Aanihin” Yes, it’s easy to say but it’s hard to do. In our generation today, we cannot say that people especially children has a good nutrition. Why I say so? Because we can observe that not all the children are eating vegetables. They choose to go to the fast food to eat. Are we not aware of those disease that are coming out today? Malnutrition is one of the most problem today.
We reminisce the past when our grandfather and grandmother or the ancestors. Their way of eating habits especially those who are in the provinces. They plant in their backyard some vegetables, in their fields full of healthy vegetables. Can we observe that their lives gone longer than of the lives of today? Why? It’s simply because of their nutrition habits. They certainly eat meat mostly on fruits and vegetables. Can we not get that tradition of our ancestors so that good nutrition will be back in our generation?
Food Gardening is important. Why? First, you have an additional food. If you plan for the food gardening, you will harvest everyday. Second, you'll have a food security. You will not be hungry. Another is you can cut down on you grocery budget. Growing your own food can save you money. One of the biggest advantage of food gardening is you can make it as a family hobby. Gardening if a fun, family-friendly activity that allows kids to get their hands dirty and learn where their food comes from. From planting seedlings to building salad together, starting a vegetable garden is a great way to get your family off the couch and onto their feet.
Yes, the secret is in our hands. If we believe in our ancestors- the way of our ancestors of having a good nutrition, there is no more cancers, no more malnutrition and no more serious diseases in this world. Why wait for tomorrow if we can do it now.

Letter To The President

Dear Mr. President,

I’m Crystel Joy Rola, a student of Ilocos Sur National High School. I’m writing you today to share my thoughts about the controversial of tokhang.
I become interested to this because as of years that you’ve been our president, it’s still a big issue on the television and newspaper about tokhang. Our municipality is a drug free zone but still drugs is still existing.
Tokhang I know is about convincing the users and pushers to stop using and selling illegal drug because it ruins the future of every mankind but then the action of the Philippine National Police was not convincing because they kill forcely every users and pushers.
And now Mr. President, may I request you that you may response to this and is there any solutions that users and pushers will keep safe in every operation that no one can be harm or killed.
So then sir, may I thank you for reading this simple letter from a simple student. Thank you very much and God Bless.

Yours Sincerely,
                                                                                                                        Crystel Joy Rola

Freedom's Sacrifice

June 12, 2018 marked the 120th celebration of the Philippine Independence Day. It's been a century and almost two decades since General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the Philippine Declaration of Independence on June 12, 1898 in Kawit, Cavite, after being liberated from more than three centuries of Spanish colonization. I have to ask, why do we celebrate Independence Day?
Mainly because it commemorates the Filipino's declaration of their inherent right to freedom and independence. Another was because June 12 had been also observed as the "Flag Day" in the Philippines since it was the first time the Philippine Flag was officially waved. And it brings honor and love for the heroes who spent their lives to end the abuses of Spain. It gave way to the Philippines for self-government, learning to be more educated and civilized.
Our freedom was once taken from us by fellow Filipinos. If we're not vigilant, this can happen again. May we never lose our hope and patience with the ways of democracy. We should not waste the freedom earned by blood and sacrifices of our forefathers and heroes.
